Pros +
- I like the location, I loved the Japanese-like shoji sliding doors to cover the windows!
- The staff were welcoming and nice and the room was clean and comfortable.
- Location. Size of the room was small but larger than most Japanese rooms. It even came with cooking supplies!
Cons -
- There wasn’t any place to actually pack your clothes away other than a 5 prong hanger. We left our clothes in our luggage the entire time of our 2 week stay.
- Water pressure was not as strong
- Less toiletries offered than other hotels, but more than sufficient for the price.

Location is good, quick walk to Nijo station, close to supermarkets and convenience stores. Room is clean and tidy and modern with enough amenities. Shower and bath are a good size with good water pressure. Very good value for money.
Less toiletries offered than other hotels, but more than sufficient for the price.
Room was rather large compared to other chain hotels.
Bath equipment needs repairs. Location is a bit too far from the main attractions.
Public transport near the area making it very accessible. Room size is good engouh for 2 people and has everything you need. Staff is also very helpful
Food options better to head into central town
The location, comfort and overall facility is good. Staffs are helpful. Onsite laundry, in room kitchen that allows guests to cook quick meals made the stay quite pleasant.
The cold water in my bathroom sink was broken, instead of having it fixed promptly I was asked to just turn off the water heater if I want cold water. There is kitchen but no chairs or stool in the room to actually sit to eat.Internet connection often disconnects. The washing machines needed to be cleaned, there were dirty black debris stuck on my clothes after wash.
Hotel was great, everything was good, the location the room the staff.
It appears to be a fairly new hotel and has a pleasant ambiance. I also liked the location as it was a bit removed from the tourist areas, but easy to get around by bus. The staff was also very kind.
Well, they put me a room right by the office and the lobby, which I knew was going to be a problem with ambient noise coming from the lobby and even the occasional noise from people doing laundry. Late at night it was generally fine, but don’t take that room is my advice. I was there 4 nights but apparently the hotel was full and I couldn’t change to the same size room as I booked. Also, and this is incredible, there wasn’t a chair in the room! At some point I was told I could ask for a chair but they seemed to be in short supply?♂️ Just very strange and disappointing.
Location near the train station, on site laundry
I wish there was space for a small table and chair
Beautiful Japanese style boutique accommodations, clean and modern, close to rail station and convenience stores with easy access to many sightseeing locations in and around Kyoto. We would definitely stay here again!?
If you are using the train, know that some of the rail lines stop operating after midnight, so check ahead of time
Very friendly and accomodating and clean.
Rooms were a bit small and we had to get two also sometimes staff wasn't readily available all the time.
We came to this hotel, and a year later, decided to come again during our stay in Kyoto, since it was so good. The location is amazing, really far from the train station, so it's really convenient to move around. It has a market right next to it, in case the two convenience stores were not enough, so you have so many options to get food around. The room had everything what was necessary so you can eat in there and prepare some food.
The beds are individual, next to each other, so the space in the middle may be uncomfortable.
The bed was comfortable, and it looked like a Japanese home.
The pictures are misleading I thought it was going to be a studio apartment type accommodation. However there was not even enough room for luggage. We had to walk around the luggage in the hallway. The pictures shows a hot plate however the space between the bed, and the spaces to cook is barely large enough to stand I wouldn’t want to cook anything there. The view out the window is a large school building, and the location isn’t close to any tourist attractions accept Nijo castle. I’ve stayed at other Stay Sakura properties that were much larger. So I was surprised by the lack of space to eat, or cook.
The staff was kind and the place was affordable. It’s by a small shotengai (shopping street) that had more local stores which was charming.
It is a bit tucked away so it was a bit challenging to find at first but it was nice. It is a bit further from the metro, which is only a problem in the heat and humidity of summer. Otherwise it’s great.
Staffs are nice, the room is very clean, facilities are good
wifi is not good. my 4G didn't work so much there
Location near the Nijo station, clean and spacious room There are kitchen equipments, many towels and toiletries.Calm and quiet neighborhood with lots of cafes and restaurants.
Lovely hotel, beautiful lobby, very well designed, the room was very generous in size and super clean.
A location was a little further out of the main areas we wanted to see but still super central for Kyoto in general and was easy to get the tube or taxis!
Good location close to train and bus. The room was comfortable and well equipped. Clean accomodation in general.
Very kind and helpful staff. To reach to the hotel you need to take a bus. If you like to walk, it’s a walkable distance but quite long.
